I'm using exactly the same version of Mathtype 6.9 in both machines, installed from the same source. The new laptop runs Microsoft Windows 10 Pro, Version 3 Build 18363 My old laptop runs Microsoft Windows 10 Pro, Version 2 Build 18362. They pointed me to a thread in this forum, but the solutions proposed there didn't help either. Indeed, they believe the problem isn't with MathType, but with how the newest updates of Windows 10 handle the fonts. I tried a lot to solve it, but I couldn't. I have recently bought a new laptop, and the same version of MathType does not work there, with some font issues. This should only be attempted by the most advanced users.I have been using MathType 6.9 in Windows 10 on an old laptop without a problem for a long time. In the 'names' table, under section 6, you'll find the Postscript name of the font in Unicode. This is made up of many tables, each with a name (e.g. Times.ttf), and it produces a text dump of the TrueType font file. ttf (TrueType font) file as a parameter (e.g. ttfdump is a console app (in needs to be run in a console or MS-DOS window). These are PostScript names of fonts (not the same as how they appear inside the fonts menu in applications, and also not the same as their filename in the Windows fonts folder) - they could be TrueType or Postscript fonts, it doesn't matter (TrueType fonts all have PostScript names, despite not being PostScript fonts).
